Subscription and continuity merchant accounts

Card acceptance for subscription boxes, memberships, continuity programs and anything else that bills again next month.

Rebills are where chargebacks come from and where the card networks look hardest. Clear terms, reminders and a vault you own make the category boring, in the good way.

Why banks decline subscriptions and continuity

  • Negative-option rules require clear consent, reminders and easy cancellation, and regulators act when they are missing.
  • A customer who forgot the rebill files a chargeback; enough of them and the account is closed.
  • Trial-to-rebill flows carry specific network rules on disclosure and receipts.

What we need from you

Underwriting reads the site before it reads the application. Have these ready and a complete application goes live in 24 hours.

  • Terms at checkout that show the rebill amount and date before the customer pays
  • Reminder emails before trial conversions and before rebills where the rules require them
  • A cancellation path that is as easy as signing up
  • A billing descriptor that customers will recognise every month
  • Formation documents and an EIN or your country's equivalent
  • Owner identification (a passport is fine; no SSN needed for non-US owners)
  • A voided check or bank letter for the settlement account
  • Processing and chargeback history from your current processor, if you have one
  • Published refund, shipping and privacy policies, and terms that match how you actually bill

What you get

  • A vault under your name: your subscribers' tokens and schedules are yours, so switching processors is a routing change and rebills continue.
  • Retries on soft declines within the network rules, and dunning that recovers failed rebills.
  • Routing across more than one merchant account where volume justifies it.
  • Settlement in two business days.

What we cannot support

Saying it here saves you an application.

  • Hidden rebills or trials that convert without clear terms
  • Flows where cancellation requires a phone call the customer cannot get through on
  • Products the card networks prohibit

Questions subscriptions and continuity merchants ask

Can I import my existing subscribers?

Yes. Tokens are migrated into your vault and rebills continue from the next scheduled date; customers do not re-enter cards.

What do the rules require for trials?

Clear terms before payment, a receipt that states the rebill, a reminder before the first rebill, and an easy cancellation. We check the flow during underwriting.

Do you handle failed rebills?

Yes. Retries within the network rules, then dunning emails, then a final attempt before the subscription pauses.

Will there be a reserve?

Usually only for models with no history. It is stated in the offer.
